Poor Substitute
The new paper stem buds have none of the flexibility of the plastic stems now phased out. Not at all comfortable to use.

packaging not recyclable
These are fine as cotton buds; the paper stems are bendy but I'm ok with that. I was disappointed to find that, having chosen them for the paper stem, the plastic box didn't have any recycling flags on.

Not tried them yet but why would anyone chose plastic stems these days?!!
