Not comparable to an XO

My usual tipple is Hine Rare. Based on the reviews of this XO brandy for less then 1/3 the cost of Hine I thought I would give it a try. As a stand alone brandy it's OK, sort of. By comparison to Hine (or any good VSOP cognac) it is pretty rough though. The old adage of "You get what you pay for" is particularly true in this case.

Better than branded Brandy.

Excuse the above alliteration. I am slightly tipsy from enjoying this lovely Brandy. Smooth yet warm, a clear palette of flavours without alcohol after burn. I compare it favourably to much more expensive brandy. But for now, my sincere apologies for I am very very drunk!

It grows on you

At first we were 'undecided' but having bought it we stuck with it. Now we rate it highly having got the taste. It's good.

Smooth

Very nice in a proper brandy glass,warmed in the palm of your hand. Tastes better than cognac.

Pleasent surprise.

I was very pleased after my first taste. There was no Remy 1738 which I am very partial to. Better than I expected for an own brand. From first to last drop I enjoyed it. No tongue or throat burn but it did fire up my belly very nicely !
