the space among layers only fits for standard sized mugs. If the mugs are bigger than standard, it's hard to put them on and could push other mugs off.
The central pillar is screwed on. There is nothing else to support the top weight. When you put mugs on only one side, it's visibly leaning with a small angle (but it won't fall over).
There is a layer of fabric glued to the bottom of the tree so it is wipe clean only. You can't wash it.
I guess I will go back to my stainless steel mug tree:)
