Preparation and Usage
500g/1lb strong white bread flour
25g/1oz butter
1 1/4 tsp salt
7g - full sachet, Morrisons fast action yeast
300ml/10floz warm water
2 tsp sugar to give added flavour and thicker crust (optional)
How to use
Hand baking (makes 1 large loaf)
1. Mix together in a large bowl the flour, (optional sugar) and salt, rub in butter and then stir in the yeast.
2. Stir in the water and mix into a soft dough by hand.
3. Knead for 5 minutes in an electric mixer fitted with a dough hook, or turn it onto a floured surface and knead well for 10 minutes by hand.
4. Shape the dough and place in a greased 2lb tin or on a baking tray. Cover with a clean, damp tea towel (this stops the dough drying out), and leave in a warm place until doubled in size (1 1/2 - 2 hours).
5. Uncover and bake in an oven, preheated to (230°C/450°F/Gas Mark 8) for 30-35 minutes. The baked loaf should sound hollow when tapped underneath.
6. Take the loaf out of the tin and cool on a rack.
Bread machine
Add Morrisons fast action yeast to the rest of the ingredients in the bread pan (refer to your manufacturer's handbook for recipes), keeping the yeast separate from the salt and sugar.

Half Dead Yeast
I made several failed loaves in the past and currently with this yeast and thought it was my baking that was terrible, until switching yeast brands on a recommendation. Turns out I can make bread and that this yeast is half dead. When added to warm water with honey you get almost no fermentation
NOT GLUTEN FREE
If you're a Coeliac like me do not buy this to make your own bread as it contains wheat. Look at the ingredients. So the loaf I made I couldn't eat. Yeast should just be that and nothing else.
Excellent results \- def. use again
I was a little worried about how this would perform in view of the price, but I made a large 1KG loaf and the results were excellent...used with very strong Canadian flour and the result was a well risen flavourful and textured bread
Works for me
Ive made 3 lovely loaves of bread with this
Perfect rise - great results
This is better than other yeasts that I have used in the past. My bread had a beautiful rise. The individual sachets are great if you are not a frequent bread maker as the yeast keeps well. I will be buying this product in the future.
