Pop your Cook in the Bag chicken on a baking tray in the middle of a pre-heated oven. For crispy skin, slit the bag open at the end of the cooking time and roast for a further 10 minutes.

2 Stir in a tablespoon of flour
3 Add 130-150ml of hot chicken stock and simmer for 8-10 minutes
4 Strain through a sieve, serve and enjoy!

Cooking appliances vary. These instructions are given as a guide.
Please ensure that the product is piping hot throughout before serving. Ensure product is thoroughly cooked and that juices run clear and that no pink colour remains. Avoid bag touching heating elements or flame in oven. If product is frozen, defrost thoroughly and cook as chilled. Do not reheat.
190°, Fan 170°C, Gas 5 1hr 28 mins
Do not remove any packaging. Pierce the pack where indicated.
Pre-heat your oven as shown. Place the bagged chicken in a deep roasting tray and cook in the centre of the oven for the calculated time on the front of pack (40 minutes per 1kg plus an additional 20 minutes). To brown your chicken; 30 minutes before the end of cooking, remove from the oven and using a pair of scissors carefully cut the bag along the dotted line and remove panel. Caution: Take care when opening the bag as steam may escape. Return to the oven for a further 30 minutes. Take extra care when removing from the oven and opening the bag as it will contain hot cooking juices. To ensure the chicken is fully cooked, insert a skewer into the thickest part of the meat. If the juices run clear, not pink, it is fully cooked. For tenderness and succulence, allow the chicken to rest at room temperature inside the bag for 20-30 minutes before carving.

Cooking Guidelines
Oven cook - From Chilled. Cooking appliances vary. These instructions are given as a guide. Please ensure that the product is piping hot throughout before serving. Pre-heat your oven to 200°C/400°F Gas 6 and place the chicken in its bag on a baking sheet in the centre of the oven. Do not open or pierce the bag before cooking. Cook for 1 hour and 45 minutes. If you want the skin to be more crisp, remove the chicken from the oven at the end of cooking time and open the bag by slitting down the front with a knife or scissors. Return the chicken to the oven for a further 10 mins. Remove and pierce the thickest part of the breast meat with a skewer to check that there is no pink meat and the juices run clear. If more cooking is required, return to the oven. Continue cooking for a further 15 mins and retest. Take care when opening the bag as steam will escape and there will be a lot of cooking juices. Allow to rest 5-10 mins before carving. Serve and enjoy.

disappointing
Im mostly impressed with these oven ready chickens. Sadly, our recent purchase has not been so successful. While it cooked a dream, the legs were very spindly and had no meat on them we got x3 sandwiches out of it Great shame

Consistently Good
Bought this product many times now and we like it. The stuffing is very nice I don't like the Paxo stuffing as its way too herby, this stuffing is more meatier

brittle Plastic bag everywhere
After cooking the bag which the chicken is cooked in was so brittle that it broke into flaked pieces all over the chicken. I don't really want plastic flakes in my chicken never mind being ecologically damaging. Not exceptable in this day and age. I won't be buying again!
