How To Make the Perfect Chocolate Fudge Cake
Cooking appliances vary. These instructions are given as a guide.
1. Set your oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4 and leave it to warm up.
2. Grease and line your two cake tins (the butter will help the paper stick to the tin).
3. Now, empty the sponge mix into a mixing bowl and add the eggs, 40g of butter and 100ml of cold water.
4. Whisk the mixture together until it's combined and smooth. This should be taken about a minute.
5. Next, pour the mixture into the tins, dividing it as equally you can.
6. Place the tins in the centre of your oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until your cakes are risen and springy.
7. When they're ready, take your cakes out of the oven and leave them to cool on a wire rack.
8. While they're cooling, beat 50g of softened butter with the frosting mix. Then add 30ml (2 tbsp) of semi-skimmed milk and beat together until it's smooth and creamy.
9. Take about a third of the frosting and spread on top of one of your cooled cakes with a knife.
10. Sandwich the two cakes together and use the rest of the frosting to completely cover the top and sides.
11. Sprinkle over the chocolate curls and time how long you can resist cutting yourself a slice!
Top Tip:
Make it all gooey and pop your chocolaty slice in the microwave for 10 seconds, serve with a scoop of ice cream and dig in!

Icing needs more milk
The cake and icing have a good chocolate flavour. We had to add another 25ml of milk to get the icing to a spreading consistency.
Will stop buying the branded for this
Amazing cake ! You literally cant get it wrong (Im no baker trust me). It was easy to make, quick to cook and moist. Its stayed fresh in the fridge for a week too. Yum. Will be buying more - much to the dismay of my local Tea Rooms wholl be going out of business haha !
Lovely
So glad I tried this as its absolutely beautiful, easy to do, nice size and not sickly sweet. It'll be a fave of mine now. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Very good cake.
This cake mix is so easy to make and the results are delicious. Excellent quality and value for money.
Very Tasty
I tweak this mix a little, instead of butter I had used oil and whipping cream. Instead of butter for the Icing, I used whipping cream. Was very moist and very tasty.
Absolutely tasty
Wa Gwan, very surprised at how good this tastes, also great for getting children to bake, well worth the price . Bless up now ya hear!
