What you'll need:
25g of unsalted butter (plus a bit extra for greasing)
20ml of water
A wooden spoon
A mixing bowl
A baking tray
A cooling rack
How to make perfect chewie cookies:
Cooking appliances vary.
These instructions are given as a guide.
1. Set your oven to 190ºC/375ºF/Gas Mark 5 and leave it to warm up.
2. Grease a baking tray with a little butter.
3. Now, empty the cookie mix into a mixing bowl and add the softened butter.
4. Rub it together with your fingers to form a crumbly dough.
5. Next, add the water slowly, mixing as you go.
6. Once the dough is smooth and sticks together in a ball, divide it into six equal sized balls and roll between your hands.
7. Flatten the balls into discs and place them on the greased baking tray, about 5cm apart.
8. Place the tray in the centre of your oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until your cookies are golden and crisp on the outside.
9. When they're ready, take your cookies out of the oven and leave them to cool on a wire rack. Just try to resist eating them straight away!
Top tip:
If you like your cookies chewy, take them out of the oven a little early and leave them on the hot baking tray. They'll carry on cooking slowly on the tray, without the intense heat of the oven.

great, easy and no mess
Agree with pervious review - no mess and great for baking with young children. Every time we bake we had so much fun and very little washing up for me! However I found the cookies too sweet for children so I added 100g of plain flour, 1/2 baking powder, 1/4 baking soda, then double the butter(maybe a bit more) and water. It yield more than a dozen medium size chunky soft cookies. Less sweet and very tasty! What a super value!
Happy days
Made these with great nephew and niece and it got very messy but both had great fun and cookies delicious. Can’t recommend enough.
Delicious
Bought this mix to make with my little boy. They are delicious and I'll definitely buy again.
good buy
made these with my kids yesterday for the first time. really easy to do and it makes 6 large cookies which most importantly tasted good!
Hiya!
Hello Shoppers! I was wondering if I should buy this mix. Can anyone tell me if it's any good? Thanks!
Sooooo tasty
These may seem little pricey for a pack that only yields 6 cookies, however, they are easy enough to make for my kids to do alone and they certainly taste delicious.
