soft and woody
I wanted this for a remoulade salad, not fresh and half the size it was supposed to
easy veg
Put in the microwave for 8 mins, turn over and so another 8 mins and you have a cooked fireball. Let it cook a bit then carve off the skin then cube and slather in butter.
British Celeriac!
Surprised that this celeriac was from Linconshire, I'm buying fresh UK food whenever possible & was pleased that this was from a British farm as the producer/grower was not listed in the online description. Please Morrisons clearly identify all UK produce, I can't be the only shopper trying to support UK farmers. The celeriac was so good too!
Cold day? Celariac and Bacon Soup is just AWESOME.
This vegetable always delivers the most delicious soup when blended with onions and bacon, boiled in a Chicken Stock. It’s filling, has real substance and makes me reminisce of a winter walk with my then boyfriend several years ago. We ventured out, escaping the office at the weekend, on a bright, but cold and wet winter Sunday morning for a walk. To my horror, when walking uphill and over a large & very muddy patch, I slipped and fell. When I stood up and regained some pride, covered with mud from head to foot, we walked back to the car to discover a pub with a welcoming glow of light in the window. We slipped up to the front door which was slightly ajar. I’ll never forget that appetising smell of food that I just couldn’t identify. My first encounter with bacon and celeriac soup and I’ll never forget it. My husband is now coeliac and this veg it’s still in my shopping list, it’s a highly recommended perfect winter treat, it’s healthy and very filling, what more could you want?
Delicious Low-carb alternative to potatoes
It won't win any beauty awards but this underrated veg makes a fine low-carb alternative to oven roasted potatos with a bit of oil and seasoning.
A fantastic healthy and nutritious vegetable
This vegetable root is very under rated and from the previous reviews, I understand why. Most people do not know how to prepare or cook this vegetable . You do not simply boil it and eat it on it's own because like that it is tasteless. Many top restaurants use this vegetabe. Try French or Italian recipes. Examples as follows Italian dish such as the Raw celeriac carpaccio ie thin slices, seasoned with salt and pepper, dressed in lemon juice, then cut with anchovies and capers, finally dressed in olive oil is very very tasty. Italian Celeriac soup vegetable stock base and all vegetables pureed, some cream and finished with a touch of truffle oil is delicious. Give the vegetable another chance, it is fantastic!
