Product information

Bright, fruity and very Australian, this Pinot Grigio guarantees a g'day mate. Bang full of tropical fruit flavours - melon, pineapple and peach - there's a little bit of spice in there too. Match to a chicken risotto or paella for a night in.

More about this product;

This Aussie white takes the best the Italians have to offer and gives it a very Australian and very contemporary twist. Made from grapes grown on McGuigan's estates in the Riverland region, which lies across the junction of three states in The Murray Valley, it's a distinctive bright pale lemon colour. Just twist the cap and pour and the spicy, fruity aromas hit you before this refreshingly crisp wine shows off its tropical fruit flavours - melon, pineapple and peach - wrapped-up in citrus.

History
McGuigan Wines was established to celebrate the culmination of 3 generations of wine growing by the McGuigan family. Founder Brian McGuigan adopted the central symbol of the family crest, the lion, to reflect inspiration & the McGuigan's enduring spirit & passion for producing great quality Australian wine. Those proud family traditions are still at the heart of McGuigan winemaking values today. IWSC Winemaker of the Year-2009/11/12/16 & IWC White Winemaker of the Year-2009/12/13/19
Regional Information
The fruit is selected from various vineyards mainly in the Murray Darling region. The climate is hot with high evaporation rates & generally low rainfall making irrigation essential. The climate is also continental, resulting in long sunny days and noticeably cooler nights. Modern viticultural & winemaking techniques mean that the climate can be seen as one of the region's strengths.

Vinification Details
The fruit was crushed, de-stemmed and immediately clarified. Fermentation followed after inoculating with selected yeast strains. Fermentation was carried out at cool temperature to preserve the fruit flavours. Fermentation lasted for 2 weeks. Post fermentation the wine was racked of the ferment lees and remained on light lees until blended.

Best Value Pinot Grigio Around

I have been drinking pinot grigio for many years and I have not found better value than this, two bottles for £10. Yes, there maybe smoother bottles out there but at a premium price.

Not an authentic Pinot G

Really didnt like this PG. More like a Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc - May be because its Australian rather than Italian. If you want a good PG, stick to Italian.
