Product information

Perfectly-balanced melon-lime Chardonnay, this McGuigan's a knock-out. It has all the super-fresh zip of a classic mixed with creaminess. If you like your wine lively, light and luscious this is for you; simply chill in the fridge, then enjoy.

More about this product;

This refreshingly delicious Aussie Chardonnay punches well above its weight. Citrus, melon and lime flavours collide in the bottle and simply explode in every mouthful. Made from grapes grown on McGuigan's estates in the Riverland region, which lies across the junction of three states in The Murray Valley in south-eastern Australia.

It's a devilishly dry gem of a wine with a little bit of caramel oakiness. Drink it when you've invited your friends over for a seafood barbeque, or match it up with a delicious linguine with prawns.

Regional Information
Fruit was carefully selected from various regions to balance style & flavour profile of the wine. The climate is hot with high evaporation rates & generally low rainfall making irrigation essential. The climate is also continental resulting in long sunny days & noticeably cooler nights. Modern viticultural & winemaking techniques mean that the climate can be seen as one of the region's strengths.

Vinification Details
The fruit was crushed, de-stemmed and immediately clarified. Fermentation followed after inoculating with selected yeast strains. Fermentation was carried out on French and American oak planks at cool temperatures to retain maximum fruit characters. Fermentation lasted for 2 weeks. Post fermentation the wine was racked off the ferment lees and remained on light lees until blended. Once blended, a selection of American and French oak chips weeks were used to enhance the palate.

I always get compliments on this wine

I originally bought the smaller bottle for cooking, which my partner would always finish off - every time saying it was very nice. I now buy this bigger bottle for her to drink and she loves it. It also got a lot of compliments when I served it at a picnic

Was a great wine

I've been a fan of this wine for forever, the 2018 and 2020 were the best. The one they stock now (2021) is awful its so acidic it actually burns the throat.
