Best chips ever!
I used to like their Home Fries, but many of them are bad and have black bits. It's very wasteful. I tried these Gastro chips and they are much better quality, but they are expensive. The default setting on my air fryer is 20 minutes at 200C, but they end up too crispy and dry. I cook these chips for 30 minutes at 170C and shake them every 5 mins. A lot of oil ends up in the air fryer, but the cooked chips are fantastic. I sprinkle some salt over them and add a puddle of ketchup. I won't buy other chips now.
Great Taste
Yes - they shed a lot of oil when air frying - this gives them the flavour and crispness. The oil is in the fryer, not the finished chip. Have these as an occasional treat, not a daily item.
Loads of Oil.
Not at all nasty but need to be aware of the oil involved. If using an air fryer, DO NOT tip them out. Rather large as well. Whole new kettle of ball games (as they say).
