History
The roots of Cantine Maschio's passion for wine are as old as the vines on the Veneto's hills.
The history of Cantine Maschio is also the history of Prosecco, a wine which, with its fresh, light and lively style, has created a new type of drinking geared towards conviviality, the aperitif and the cocktail known as a ¿spritz¿.
Regional Information
The recognition of the D.O.C. and the international protection of the Prosecco name have crowned the efforts of the producers and local institutions to defend this wine's precious reputation.
The regulations for D.O.C. wines include the naming of recognized sub-zones and allow for the indication of grape variety, wine-making methods and qualifications specific to the product.
The zone of D.O.C. Prosecco is made up of 9 Provinces in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Vinification Details
In contrast to the sparkling wines obtained by the Metodo Classico and the Charmat method, which involve a second fermentation of the must, Cantine Maschio just carries out a single alcoholic fermentation, in order to maintain as far as possible the freshness, aromas and natural fruitiness of the grape must.
The result is a wine with an extremely low sulfur dioxide content and with an enhanced lightness of flavor, which makes it very attractive and easy to drink.
