I always buy Mackays three berry preserve which is absolutely lovely so I thought I'd try their strawberry preserve.
I know jam should be sweet but this is sickly sweet with the sugar overpowering the jam.
As this is a premium product I would have expected to see at least some pieces of strawberry. None - just runny jam. Will continue to buy the three berries one but this strawberry - never again.
we found this way to sweet (including my partner, who has a sweet tooth anyway) which is a shame, because I'm sure it used to have a better balanced flavour.
Another company downsizing there product. i have always had this jam/marmalade since a youngster over 50yrs, not anymore, it is not the same sweet tasty jam with chunks of fruit in it, It is bland, and tastes like a cheap jam now, why do manufacturers have to change products, if it is not broken don't fix it.
