Toddler made mud pie has better taste

Dry sponge, cheapest oily chocolate, cheap not-butter cream tasteless filling, weird excuse for 'jam'. Odd 'bitter' taste, won't be buying ever again. Box at least 30% bigger than cake to keep it intact. Looks value for money but doesn't taste it. Expected better from L&G.

CRACKING CAKE FOR SWEET TEETH!

Lovely cake this. Quite sweet, so don't overdo it. But it soon disappeared (blame the Wife!) I had a couple of slices and was quite impressed. For a quid you can't expect any more than this.

I’m believably light and airy, great value and yummy with custard. Delicious! Had the lemon and the chocolate one to both as nice

Sweet.... which is no bad thing

A slice of this cake and a coffee makes for a nice mid morning treat. It is a little on the sweet side for me, but it is a cake... so what do I expect! The sponge is nice and light, the jam has a little sharpness, there is plenty of chocolate (especially if you have an end slice). The cream filling is a little granulated and the only weak point in my opinion. However, that said it still is a smashing cake, and the price is great too.
