History
First cultivated in Burgundy, this grape spread to other areas of Europe, including Italy - where it is known as Pinot Grigio and has become a highly popular planting in the Northeastern part of the country. Over the years, the wine grew to become one of the most popular white wine in Italy and many consider this wine to be the best expression of its grape variety.
Regional Information
Veneto is Italy's largest wine producing region and IGT Delle Venzie is an appellation which specializes in white wines. The alluvial soils, the warm days and cool nights make the perfect conditions to grow the Pinot Grigio grape as they help to maintain the perfect balance between acidity and sugar levels.
Vinification Details
Fermentation goes on for 8-10 days, while stabilization is carried out in 30 days with no oak contact. The wine is then filtered and bottled.
