History
For generations, the Kendermanns familiy has been seeking out contemporary wine styles from Germany's wine growing regions. Today this responsibility lies with our young generation winemaker Philipp Closheim who is on a constant voyage to discover outstanding quality and innovation in the world of German wine.
Regional Information
The origin of this wine is the Rheinhessen region along the River Rhine where the warm and sunny climate provides ample sunshine to ripen the grapes. Rheinhessen is also known as Little Switzerland with rolling hills and deep loess soils.
Vinification Details
The grapes were harvested late at optimum ripeness. They were then pressed gently, cooled down and the heavier matter was allowed to settle naturally, leaving behind a clean juice with enhanced fruit definition. The juice was then fermented at low temperatures of 14-16°C / 57-61°F for approximately three weeks in stainless steel allowing natural residual sweetness. Some sweet reserve was added to achieve final desired sweetness level.
