A very useful staple, but I've noticed recently that a large number of tins seem to be arriving severely dented in my deliveries now. I'm guessing they have made the actual cans from thinner metal than they used to be, but it may be an issue with the packing, don't know which, but whichever it is, it's annoying!
open a tin, drain the water and mix in chopped shallot, coriander leaves, salt, chilli flakes, chopped chives, lemon juice, chopped tomatoes and u have a cracking side dish
Fry off with onions, little cumin powder, salt and garam masala. Add to basmati rice as it comes to simmer in its boiling water. Stir through once and leave. Cook rice through as normal. Makes a lovely variant to rice dish.
Usually buy East End which have a better quality taste but as a cheap cupboard filler its not so bad
I love these in a curry with fresh spinach. yum
