Oven cook - From Frozen. Preheat oven to 220°C (200°C for fan assisted ovens)/Gas Mark 7.
1 Place the frozen Vol-au-Vent cases onto a baking tray at least 2.5cm apart. Brush with beaten egg or milk (optional).
2 Place the tray in the top half of the oven for 13-15 minutes turning halfway through cooking.
3 Bake until golden brown.

Not fit for purpose
They looked strange coming out of the box . I had bought three boxes and cooked two almost none were shaped properly and useable to fill. Very disappointing!

MEDIUM: ON WHICH PLANET
These cases are terrible: they are tiny, rise unevenly, and the lids/centres are nigh on impossible to remove. Sadly, the taste is nothing to write home about, either. Will try to make my own from pastry blocks or sheets, next time and, if I dont like the pre-packed offerings, try making my own pastry! I wont be buying these againever!

Excellent
I bake at slightly lower temperature than suggested and they come out perfect every time. I don't know why so few shops stock them. They are excellent.
