History
Cantine Settesoli is a community of Sicilian winegrowers, a large Sicilian vineyard, an authentic wine district in the province of Agrigento. Established in 1958 in Menfi, today it has 2.000 partners, 6.000 hectares of vineyards. Cantine Settesoli was not only a cooperative where growers brought their grapes, but an organization that turned a simple product into something more valuable: wine. Cantine Settesoli produce high-quality traditional and organic wines that are strongly rooted in the territory.
Regional Information
The vineyards are cultivated in the southwestern part of Sicily, in Menfi (AG), located between the ancient Greek acropolis of Agrigento and the ancient Greek acropolis of Selinunte on an altitude from 20 to 300 m a.s.l.
In this way, the plants are kissed by the sun and at the same time they are refreshed by the sea breezes.
Vinification Details
We use vertical trellis training and Guyot pruning to monitor the growth of our grapes. After carefully inspecting the ripening process, we harvest our grapes at the beginning of August, with an average yield of 8,000 kg/ha. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at controlled temperature. The ageing is made in steel tanks and then in bottle for at least 3 months.
