The Original
This beer is single malt whisky cask matured to unlock natural hints of vanilla, toffee and oak.

The Original is a beer to be savoured. It is Single Malt Whisky cask matured for smoothness and depth of flavour. Aromas of vanilla, malt, toffee, some orange marmalade, a touch of oak, with perfect understated bitterness. It is great on its own and pairs well with full-flavoured foods like seared steak, rich stews, or cheese. Best served ice cold in an Innis & Gunn glass.

NOT for the average drinker. Should only be drunk by some with an IQ.

Not a marriage made in heaven

I'm a big real ale fan, but this is not for me. Perhaps tellingly there's no list of ingredients on the back - I suggest there may be additives at work here. On the nose there's a very chemical whisky aroma, which is more pronounced on the taste. But it's unpleasant. Overall the beer is very sweet and drinks more like a cider. Malt notes are there but drowned out by that pretty sickly fakeish whisky taste won't be buying again.

Gassy, heavy unpleasant ale

Being a keen real ale fan this was seriously disappointing. It tasted of a deeply hoppy fruity red that left an unpleasant after taste. I struggled to finish off this small 330ml bottle. Certainly won't have this on my shopping list

Scottish Gem.

A quality amber ale, the hint of vanilla really comes through on the palate. The mellowness of this ale belies its strength at 6.6%. The only downside is the fact that it is packaged at 330ml, rather than 500ml. Overall, a very tasty brew!
