I suppose I should have read the label first as this was not the Damson jam I was looking forward to. Tastes more like plum or strawberry and is too runny for a conserve. Very disappointing!
No point in buying damson jam unless it has a tang. This one hardly tastes of plum at all, just fruity and rather runny. It's the blandest plum jam I have bought in years. I can hardly believe it's Bonne Maman. It probably isn't pure damson, I note the name is Damson Plum as opposed to just plain Damson.
I make my own jams, as there is nothing as lovely as homemade preserves... except for this. A wonderful, flavourful jam, stuffed full of fruit. Makes me Wonder why I bother with my own :-)
This Damson Plum conserve is the tastiest

Its tasty, good texture beautiful on hot buttered toast or cream crackers, a top favourite in our house.....
Had never tried plum jam before and pleasantly surprised with the lovely balance of tangy and sweet taste. Great fruit content and texture too! I'm ordering 2 more pots as it disappears from the fridge so fast.
