Product information

Grown high up on the slopes of the Douro Valley, this white is a rising star from an area best known for its reds. Planted among winding dry stone walls in vineyards now classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site, the blend of grapes benefit from a slightly cooler climate than those grown further down the valley's steep sides, creating a wine that's as refreshing as the breezes that cool them.

Delicious white, slightly spicy

I got this when it was on offer and wish I had bought more than 2 bottles as it was much more interesting and complex than I'd expected. A really nice Portuguese white with a surprising resilience and a good aftertaste.

what a surprise

Bought a bottle at the A£6 price. Lovely change to my usual French whites. Only problem it seems to evaporate in the current heat wave!

Delightful

A lovely, fresh wine that is about a 6/7 on a scale where 1 is sweet and 10 is dry so it's a great all rounder those with a sweet tooth may well enjoy served chilled with lemonade as a spritzer and those who prefer dry (as I do) it is still dry enough to really enjoy. It has a lovely, light creaminess to it, usually found in more full-bodied wines, like oaked Chardonnay, but it's still surprisingly fresh and light. I serve it lightly chilled, about 1hr in fridge, as the light, delicate flavours and scents are masked by excessive chilling. I will definitely buy again, it's a bit more than I can usually pay for wine but it's worth it, and I'd even buy it without the bonus pointsit's really worth a try in my opinion. I'm no wine expert though so I suggest checking the label images before buying (most are included with item description) as recently I've noticed some of the taste categorieslittle banners next to the item picturedon't always reflect the info on the bottle label.
