A lovely edamesqe cheese with half the fat of an average cow-based cheese and none of the potential dangers associated with the casin found in them.
It's fine grated but would not eat in slices due to the very bizarre texture. Almost tastes grainy. Not a big fan and I hope there are better vegan cheese to try on the market!
good but could be better
I think it tastes great and you get a good amount in the packet, so its definitely value for money, but I couldnt get it to melt. I notice others find the opposite, so wondering if theres inconsistencies in the batches. Will update review after next time i buy it!
tastes okay but..
I can't eat dairy due to IBS. The taste of this is okay and was quite nice melted on a bagel but after eating my skin was itching all over for about 2 days afterwards and my stomach was upset. Can't think whats in it that would cause this but have noticed that there are just 'flavourings' listed on the ingredients, would be nice to know what they are! Shame as I thought the taste was okay and miss cheese.
Really nice alternative to cheese
I'm not a vegan but normal cheese makes me bloated so I avoid it. I thought this was so good, the ingredients are great and it was like edam cheese. Used it to sprinkle on pasta dishes or mix it in with stuff. Family couldn't tell the difference. Really nice on its own too!
Prefer it to others
Lots of people are moaning about the rubber texture. Yes, when it's not cooked it's rubbery. But when it's melted it's so gooey and sticky and tasty! Goes brilliantly in burgers. I've tried a fair few other brands, and they just smell and taste like cheesy feet.
