Recipes
Ingredients
For the Biscuit
- 90g Unsalted butter (softened)
- 100g Silver Spoon caster sugar
- 1 Beaten egg
- 1 Tsp vanilla extract
- 300g Plain flour
- 1/2 Tsp baking powder
- 1/2 Tsp salt
For the icing
- 250g Silver Spoon royal icing sugar
- 35ml Water
Let's Bake
1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/150°C fan/gas mark 3.
2. Mix the butter and sugar together, then add the egg and vanilla extract.
3. Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until a dough is formed. Wrap the dough in clingfilm and chill for at least 30 mins.
4. Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface to the thickness of a pound coin.
Mix well!
5. Cut out 8cm rounds and transfer onto a baking sheet.
6. Bake for 12-14 mins until pale golden brown.
7. For the icing, slowly add 35ml water to the royal icing sugar and beat until it is thick and glossy.
8. Ready to decorate? Use a piping bag to pipe your design onto the biscuits.
