Best porridge oats ever!
I dont why they call these old fashioned porridge oats - they are simply the best ever perfect! I have tried so many types over the years looking for the perfect porridge, including all your organic fancy pants expensive ones, and these are simply top. My search is over. Perfect and delicious. Thank you.
As a diabetic and lifelong weightwatcher, i have porridge for breakfast most days. it is a plain version. i recall the porridge from my childhood with golden syrup and full fat milk but those days are gone. My Mum bought Scots for us. my "healthy" version is revolting, with salt and a splash of skimmed milk. i take it because it is a healthy breakfast. i have been buying a value bag of oats on the basis that an oat is an oat. my recent experiment has proved how wrong i was. these oats i cook in a pan on the hob. they are no trouble. the end result is incredibly creamy and delicious - even my version. if you enjoy porridge and havent tried these oats I can recommend that you try them. they are on Special Offer too.
RUFTY TUFTY OATS
These oats are whole grain flakes, so if you like your porridge oats with a bit more texture then these are for you. They are no good for the microwave though, you need to bring them to the boil in a small pan. Mix 40g of oats with 250ml of whole or semi skimmed milk, bring to the boil whilst string and simmer for about 3 minutes. Turn the heat off and leave to stand for a minute or so, then serve; luvly with a sliced banana on top.
