Very good dessert
We were pleasantly surprised when we bought this dessert previously and we were not disappointed when we purchased again this week. It is possibly a little sweet for our preference but it has good flavour and texture and cooked very nicely. We wouldn't hesitate to buy again and to recommend it to others.
Very little apple
Ate this with clotted cream as suggested. Totally wrong. The tart is so dry it needs ice cream or single cream to add moisture. Not unpleasant but we preferred the apple pie we had last week.
Lovely ratios of pastry, frangipane , apples & almonds. I dislike sweet things generally but got this as flash sale item- glad i tried it ! I found this to be perfect with a little vanilla ice cream . Mixed reviews for this Maybe other reviewers expected more of an apple pie than a frangipane
Seems some people don't like this, can't think why, it's delicious with cream.
A favourite in our house either warmed with custard or cold with cream. Lovely flavours of apples and almonds. A nice treat.
Pastry was crisp and frangipane was light and flavourful. Good have done a little more Apple but this pud was delicious warm from the oven with a dollop of cream. However, I don't think it's worth the full price and I got this on offer.
