Great for curries
Always have a pack of these in the freezer Great for use in stews or cooking curries from scratch. Have also used fried for steak accompaniment, Haven't had probs with inedible bits!
These are very poor compared to the frozen white onions. Loads of hard and inedible bits that need picking out before they can be used. Wont be buying again.
No peeling or copping/Time saving
.The main reason I have scored 5 is because it saves lot of time. This product is very good for someone who needs to cook for big family or even a couple/single person who has busy life style and also who hates to peel and chop onions. Just open the bag and start cooking you easily save 30-45mins as I cook for big family. I hope morrisons doesn't discontinue this product
Too many inedible bits from the tough outer layers
This product has deteriorated in quality. I used to buy 3 bags of this weekly but recently I've found the bag includes a lot of onion from the tough outer layers which should have been discarded with the skin. When cooked these bits are inedible. As other reviewers have said don't expect the product to be equivalent to fresh red onion which is crunchier and has a stronger flavour, it's really meant for cooking.
Fines for cooked meals, but...
Mine came frozen into a solid block which is not very convenient. OK apart from that, taste fine in cooked meals.
