To make Double decker tacos, you will need:
250g minced beef
200g refried beans
100g grated cheese
1 lettuce
2 medium sized tomatoes
Optional extra toppings:
Tomato salsa
Guacamole
Soured Cream
Preparation guidelines
1. Preheat oven.
2. 150°C, Fan 130°C, Gas 2
2. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan over a high heat. Add the minced beef and cook for approximately 8 minutes until the meat is browned.
3. Add the contents of the seasoning sachet and stir fry until the meat is thoroughly cooked and piping hot throughout, no pink meat remains and the juices run clear. Do not reheat. Ensure the seasoning is well distributed.
4. Remove all packaging from the tacos. Wrap the soft tacos in foil, place on a baking tray and warm in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. After 8 minutes, stand hard taco shells on a baking tray and warm for the final 2 minutes. Heat the re-fried beans as per the instructions on the pack. Shred the lettuce and finely slice the tomatoes.
5. Carefully remove the tacos from the oven. Spread 2 tablespoons of the warmed refried beans across the surface of a soft taco and then place a hard taco shell in the centre. Fold up the sides of the soft taco to stick it to the hard taco shell. Fill the hard taco shell with the meat mixture and top with the grated cheese, lettuce and tomato. To level up, add fresh salsa, guacamole and soured cream!
