This extra tasty whole British chicken in an ovenable bag makes cooking a sensational roast simple. Our roasting bag locks in flavour and moisture to keep your chicken succulent with cooking juices that make the most mouth-watering gravy.

The tender, extra tasty chicken is topped with a sprinkling of parsley and makes for a tasty teatime with traditional vegetables, crushed potatoes and homemade gravy. Try serving with our sauteéd leeks with petits pois and orange recipe to treat your family.

For crispy skin, slit the bag open at the end of the cooking time and roast for a further 10 minutes.

Cooking Guidelines
Oven cook - From Chilled. Cooking appliances vary. These instructions are given as a guide. Please ensure that the product is piping hot throughout before serving. Pre-heat your oven to 200°C/400°F Gas 6 and place the chicken in its bag on a baking sheet in the centre of the oven. Do not open or pierce the bag before cooking. Cook for 1 hour and 25 minutes. If you want the skin to be more crisp, remove the chicken from the oven at the end of cooking time and open the bag by slitting down the front with a knife or scissors. Return the chicken to the oven for a further 10 mins. Remove and pierce the thickest part of the breast meat with a skewer to check that there is no pink meat and the juices run clear. If more cooking is required, return to the oven. Continue cooking for a further 15 mins and retest. Take care when opening the bag as steam will escape and there will be a lot of cooking juices. Allow to rest 5-10 mins before carving. Serve and enjoy.

Has to be one of the best chickens I have ever tasted. Turned out delicious and moist and so much meat on it I only used one breast side for two people and it was plenty. super!

Once cooked as per instructions I pour all the juice into a pot container e.g. soup bowl and leave it to go cold then store it in the fridge overnight. I scoop off the top fatty layer and am left with a delicious jelly which makes two lots of delicious gravy for two additional meals over the following two days. So I get a lot of value for money plus of course the chicken is delicious too.

By the time this chicken was cooked, the tray was full of liquid that looked like 90% water and 10% chicken juice. My chicken had visibly shrunk massively. I decided to weight it and it had lost 850gr! It thought those practices were banned many years ago. It tasted nothing like chicken, just watery flesh and uneven cooking making me think that chicken was not healthy.

Best Chicken Ive Tasted

Plenty of meat on chicken which is succulent and tasty. By far one of the most delicious Ive had, especially when on offer. Just ordered 2 more.

Easy to cook, lovely flavour

We have this chicken regularly, and always enjoy it. I find it easy to cook and don't understand why there should be any difficulty following the instructions as other have noted. There's a small circle printed top centre, which is where you pierce the bag before cooking to let out excess steam. The dotted line lower down round the bag is where you cut it 10 minutes before it finishes to allow the skin to brown & crisp up. Always gives good results doing it this way. An added bonus of the bag is not having to handle the raw chicken before it goes in the oven.

chicken was cooked for said time, looked lovely at first however when i carved into it was vile. snotty horrible slimy meat. Won't be buying this from here again
