Always past their best

Unlike other supermarkets Morrisons doesnt seem to be able to find a supplier who can provide crisp fresh bean sprouts. Always limp and starting to go soggy with that awful smell even when within BB date. I keep on ordering in the hope that one day theyll arrive in a better condition. Used to just write it off but have now started requesting refund each week to try and provoke some action!

Only good if fresh

If you're lucky, these arrive in good condition. They used to be of better quality. For those wanting to store these longer than 2-3 days, get a lime, cut into wedges or 4 pieces or more, per container of beansprouts, fill with water and plop in a piece of cut lime. I use 2-3 containers to store 1 bag of these beansprouts. Change the water every day but you can use the same piece of cut lime. We do this in Malaysia. The sprouts last for ages in the fridge like this, and smells nice too. Lemon would do instead of lime, and in a pinch, I have used lime juice that come in bottles though it's better with fresh lime wedges.

Avoid, do not buy

I've bought this a number of times and each time it arrives, it's close to going off and makes my fridge smell.

short date / rot quickly

I feel its about time I reported in these, too. At one point, they were just OK - annoying that they had to be eaten on the day of delivery or by the end of the next day. I spoke with Morrisons about this and explained that if they werent washed, they should last 2 weeks in the fridge. Clearly my comments havent been taken on board and Ive had a couple of batches of squishy, soggy, brown sprouts that may have been frozen then defrosted - perhaps in the van - or perhaps before then. Come on, Morrisons, I know you can do better than this! Bean sprouts are supposed to be nutritious but not like this. Please please please can you listen and get us all some nice crunchy fresh bean sprouts that can be eaten and enjoyed instead of ending up in the bin!
