Not the same as before
Been buying this wine for years but not as nice anymore and £1-1.50 more expensive than other supermarkets. Asda one tastes the best and 5.25 a bottle. Also marked up at 2 for £10. Got home and no offer £6.50 a bottle. Reciept was soaked from juice of a cooked chicken but went back and as reciept could not be read properly nothing could be done. Stick to Asda in the future!
All time favourite
This has been a favourite of mine for many years. Unique taste and preferred chilled. The review from The Snowman is correct, Morrisons stocked a different version with a black label, the current stock with a red label is a different producer, less rich but similarly nice. A competing supermarket still sells the black label type. A unique taste. Can recommend
A very sweet red wine with an undercurrent of vanilla. If you like your reds full bodied not for you
I don't know if they have changed the recipe for this wine but I have just tried their latest and am disappointed with it. I opened a bottle I bought from Morrison's about 4 months ago and it had a taste that was much richer, and fuller bodied whilst this latest bottle is watery and a lighter colour. there is also artificial after taste. It is a shame, I used to recommend this wine to friends, I do not think this will be the case from now on.
As the Greeks say "Yammas"! This red is fantastic and only recently we had a Greek themed meal with family and I introduced a bottle to everyone. All were VERY impressed!
My Favourite Red ...
I don't like to praise it too much or will be out of stock in a flash haha It is a sweet but not cloying red .. similar to a port in flavour with raisins and dates .. gorgeous to have with any meal .. i fully recommend this 5 stars delish!
