Araldica is Piemonte's largest and most progressive co-operative yet retains a small, family run company feel, thanks to the inspired guidance of winemaker/manager Claudio Manera (whose father Livio was the co-op's first winemaker in the fifties) and his wife Lella, also a winemaker and in charge of Quality Control.

Light, delicate and yet surprisingly big flavours
With Asti Martini seeming to have cornered the market for a very long time I have been looking for another Asti Spumante to try. Whilst Asti Martini is nice it has bubbles that feel to me a little harsh on my palate, whereas the Asti Spumante of my (long gone!) earlier years had a much more refined, gentle fizz a quality this Asti is on its way to equal. I find it has an almost lemon-like initial taste which begins slightly sharp but mellows and sweetens by the time the initial hit fades, developing something similar in flavour to a not-too-sweet galia melon before the more traditional grape based flavour takes over to finish. Only 7% in alcohol and medium sweet I believe it an ideal choice for younger adults, or those new to wine drinking as there are no sharp surprises to test the tastebuds (screwing up ones face as if sucking a lemon isnt a good look if trying to impress!), or for those just preferring less alcohol in their diet but not wanting to give up alcohol completely.
it's my treat once a month love it
