Product information

Deliciously honey-sweet, warming wine, as British as Boudica. Lovely, gooey, honeyed drink of English legend, and ridiculously good. Raise a goblet of this before your next quest to win fair maiden's favour (or at least put fair maiden's shelves up).

More about this product;

Mead is the oldest known alcoholic beverage - about 10,000 years old. Not this Harvest Gold Mead you understand, but English mead in general. And after a snort of this lovely, slightly gooey, honeycomb-laden sipping wine you'll wonder why we don't drink it more often. It's brilliant. A genuine change from the norm and you just know you could be toasting Beowulf or Boudica with a flagon of this stuff. Delicious, and fabulously drinkable, a bottle of this at a party is highly unlikely to hang around for 10 minutes, never mind 10,000 years.

Mead\-i\-ocre at best

I'm no expert on mead, but thought that I'd treat myself for Christmas. This one tasted bloody awful- and I bought myself three bottles of the stuff!😒 Just goes to show that cheaper isn't always best!

Nasty by mead standards

This harvest gold is drinkable, buy ultimately if its mead you want, go elsewhere. This stuff is severely backsweetened, meaning it has a tonne of sugar in just to make it taste like anything resembling palatable. If this is your first taste of mead, don't give up, just try another company. You'll be looking at at least £10 a bottle for something decent. Just Google mead to buy and you'll land dozens of proper mead companies that are good, if not excellent. I'd give this a swerve unless your desperate.

Tasty \x26 traditional

Having tried many brands of Honey Mead, this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. From the moment you open the bottle till you finish the last drop, this mead is sweet, smooth and easy drinking with its traditional recipe and wonderful honey aroma and taste. Serve neat or try it over ice with a splash of cloudy lemonade and a shot of vodka for a "Bitter Viking" cocktail.

better than you think

There a few giving this mead a bad rap. They are just being pretentiouse. |What they mean is if you like dry, bitter tasting dish water then try some of the other meads. Harvest Gold is sweet with a pleasant honey flavour. I have brewed mead for many years and if you have never tried mead I heartly recommend you try this one, then try others and you will see the truth of the matter!

Definitely tasted worse, but not bad overall!

Mead is still growing in popularity, so you have to bear in mind recipes are still greatly varied. This is definitely sweeter than some of the other meads I've tried. But for the price it's a good regular purchase to drink throughout the week!
