Jules Lebègue is one of the oldest and most established winemaking companies in Bordeaux with a long history of producing excellent wines. This delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is a Médoc classic with blackcurrant and vanilla on the nose supported by an elegant structure and velvety tannins. Serve with poultry dishes, red meats and cheese.

History
Cour Rastignac is a brand belonging to Jules Lebegue, which dates back to 1828. It is one of the oldest negoce and vineyard owners in Bordeaux. Having been founded in the Medoc its home is now on right bank of St Emilion.
Regional Information
The AOC of medoc covers 5700 hectares. The soils are gravel and clayey limestone. The most highly planted grape vareties are Cabernet, Sauvignon and Merlot.

Vinification Details
Merlot: Cold pre-fermentary maceration during 48 hours. Fermentation begins by gradual rise in temperature of the must. Two releases are made In the beginning of fermentation. In middle and end of fermentation, gentle extractions are preferred up to two pumping daily. Cabernet Sauvignon: a 21-day hot fermentation is done. The temperature of wine is constant at 26°C, in order to preserve fruity aromas, maintaining structure and intensity of this variety.

pleasant and would buy again on offer

Good with the right food and shows you should not judge a book by it cover (dull label - good wine). Would rate this 7-8 out of 10 therefore it a buy at the 7 pound price point. Enjoy.
